A Filipino seafarer has died following a strike on a gas tanker bound for Ukraine in the Black Sea, according to reports from Romanian media. The incident occurred late Monday night, approximately 20 nautical miles off the Romanian coast, when the Gas Lisbon, a Liberian-flagged vessel, was hit while carrying propane to a Ukrainian port.

The deceased seafarer, who has not yet been publicly identified, was one of three crew members injured during the attack. Romanian health officials confirmed that the victim was a 46-year-old man who sustained burns covering 10% of his body and suffered damage to his airways. While Romanian media outlets have reported his nationality as Filipino, the health ministry has not officially verified this information.

The Gas Lisbon was transporting over 3,790 tonnes of propane and had departed from Alexandria, Egypt, en route to the Ukrainian port of Reni. The vessel had a total crew of 17 members, and the condition of the two other injured sailors remains unconfirmed, including their nationalities.
